who we are

The Lost Pines Leathernecks of Bastrop County, Texas was formed and granted a Federal Charter August 17, 2011, as Detachment 1384 within the Department of Texas of the National Marine Corps League. We are a not-for-profit and tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. LPL1384 is comprised of retired or former Marines and Fleet Marine Force (FMF) Navy Corpsmen whose vision is to have a positive and encouraging impact in the lives of veterans and in the community. The Bastrop Complex fires of September, 2011 almost extinguished that goal as many of the founders were directly impacted, some losing their homes and possessions. Though the fledgling detachment struggled, the members remained “faithful” to their cause and through the guiding values of the Marine Corps, (Honor, Courage and Commitment), LPL1384 has continued to grow.
