Project Community

The Lost Pines Leathernecks strive to promote communal ideals through involvement in community activities and by exhibiting the values of the Marine Corps - Honor, Courage and Commitment.

The Marines and Navy Corpsmen of LPL1384 have sacrificed a portion of their lives to serve this great nation in the Armed Services. That sense of service doesn't leave when our time in the military ends, but rather, is transferred to helping the communities in which we live. By upholding and exhibiting the long tested principles of the Marine Corps, we promote allegiance to the traditions, interests, and ideals of the United States of America.

Community activities include:

- Regularly providing Full Military Honors for fallen veterans in conjunction with the Bastrop County Veterans Honor Guard.
- Participating in high school student interviews of veterans in support of social studies.
- Annually participating with CASA to provide gifts and meals for families at Christmas.
- Participating in Toys for Tots Collections and Distribution.
- Performing several flag ceremonies across the Bastrop County area.
- Regularly participating in parades & ceremonies honoring veterans throughout the county.
- Visiting veterans at Nursing Facilities and donating funds and service flags.
- Placing US Flags on veteran graves during the Veterans and Memorial Day Holidays.
- Financially donating to numerous agencies that assist veterans and civilians alike such as the NJROTC at Bastrop and Elgin High Schools.

- And much, much more.
